The simplistic design of the Horizontal Auger makes it one of the most commonly used type of screw conveyors for conveying bulk materials in industrial process applications. The primary purpose of horizontal augers is to transport bulk materials from point A to B, while maintaining control of the bulk density of the product. Horizontal Augers work well for both non-flowing and free-flowing powders and solids, and are generally used for metering or feeding bulk powders, solids, or ingredients into hoppers. CMT offers Horizontal Augers that were engineered and manufactured for heavy-duty use, but also made to be cost-effective and ideal for applications that require efficient material conveying. For industrial applications, horizontal augers must withstand rigorous use without breaking the screw flighting. Typically horizontal screw conveyors convey materials between 15-45% trough loading.
